Sleek and stylish, the Crosman 2240 carbon dioxide (CO2) pistol is a pellet airgun shooters are proud to call their own. It is offered with a . 22 (5.5mm) calibre barrel and muzzle velocity of 140 metres per second (mps). Some critics rate it the best air powered pistol in its class.

The safety is located directly at the rear of the trigger zone. It is important to note that like all mechanical systems, the safety latch on an airgun can fail. Even when the safety is switched to its On position, the weapon should continue to be handled with safety. In particular, never point an airgun directly at any person. Also, never point the airgun at any object that is not an intended target.

The single-shot pistol is easy to use. Make sure the safety is in the On position when the pistol is reloaded. Reloading is a simple procedure. First, point the pistol in a safe direction. Next, cock the bolt by pushing its handle up and pulling the bolt as far toward the rear of the barrel as is possible. Third, insert one pellet, nose first, into the breech (loading port). Fourth, lightly move the bolt forward, thereby pushing the pellet into the barrel. Finally, push the bolt handle forward and then down.

Known affectionately by some by the nickname Ratbuster, several Web sites on the Net provide tips to maximum the potential of the pistol. For instance, one site highlights a power alternative called PowerMax HiPAC. This unit is a bulk-fill adaptor made specifically for the 2240 pistol. This air pack is filled with HPA gas, not carbon dioxide. Unlike the 12 gram Powerlet, the HiPac can be reused. It can pack HPA at a greater pressure than the Powerlet can pack CO2. This additional power allows one-shot kills if targeting small game and pests.

Crosman provides an interesting range of accessories and custom options for the pistol. For example, in the accessories range, tubes of pellgun oil are available to apply to the gun to stop it from rusting and prevent the seals from drying out. Also, an intermount or breech can be fitted to the pistol that allows optics to be mounted. Several scope sights are available from Crosman. Also, shooting glasses is another important accessory.

Crosman recommends owners use Copperhead brand Powerlet cartridges since they are designed to fit the model 2240. It is important not to store the airgun with a CO2 cartridge loaded in it; best to fully empty the CO2 cartridge and remove it from the airgun. This procedure prolongs the longevity of the weapon. CO2 cylinders may explode at temperatures above 48.9 degrees C (120 degrees F).

Carbon dioxide may be considered a liquid, not a gas, in its natural form. As CO2 is heated, it transforms itself into a gas. Pressure within a CO2 cartridge changes with the ambient temperature. Pressure falls as the temperature falls since the CO2 progressively liquefies.

To sum up, Crosman has a strong reputation dating back to 1923. In that year, the firm set-up its first operations in Rochester, New York. The Crosman 2240 model is one of its best value air powered pistols. It addition to pest control and small game hunting, it may also be used for target practice and plinking. Plinking is informal target shooting at discarded items such as pots, bottles and old tin cans. The term plinking rhymes (is an onomatopoeia) resembling the plink sound a projectile makes when it hits a tin can or target.

Many of us start out with paintball guns that are cheaper. Just as a sixteen year old will often start out with a cheaper car instead of a brand new BMW, many new paintballers start with a more affordable gun.

Less expensive markers will often use CO2, a power source that will work fine in most cases, but for those who want all the edge they can get to become a better paintballer, it is inferior to HPA (High Pressure Air).

The top reason for switching to compressed air (also known as HPA) is because of improved performance. Anyone that wants better performance should change power sources.

What is improved when you make the switch? Well first of all consistency is largely improved. CO2 doesn’t like to provide consistent performance during periods of rapid fire. HPA however, provides consistent performance during rapid firing.

CO2 has difficulty expanding fast enough from liquid to gas when you are shooting fast. No one wants to have their paintballs fly at unpredictable distances when they are trying to hit a target.

In cold weather, CO2 really is a pain in the neck. Anyone who plays in cold weather often should definitely make the switch if they want consistency. HPA stays consistent in cold weather.

Your gun can sometimes “freeze up” when you are unloading the paint in cold weather. The liquid literally freezes the inside of your gun and wrecks its performance, sometimes even causing it to stop working until it can unfreeze.

Do you sometimes have what looks like snow shooting out of your gun when it is cold outside? This is the telltale sign that liquid is starting to get into your gun.

The problem with CO2 is that it is in both liquid and gas form inside your tank. Gas is good, but the liquid is bad when it gets into the marker. When it happens, it causes poor performance. Compressed air tanks only have air inside of them.

Paintballers that want the best performance should make the switch to a compressed air tank. It is more consistent and will not give you problems in cold weather.

Before you go out and spend too much money on your paint ball gear, go here to get some – cheap paint ball gear for sale.

The Crosman C11 metal ball bearing (BB) gun is a carbon dioxide powered, 4.5 mm calibre pistol. The weapon is made by Crosman Corp., a worldwide leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of air powered guns and rifles. The company is based in East Bloomfield located north of the five finger lakes in upstate New York. From that relatively remote base, Crosman air powered weapons are marketed globally.

The C11 air gun permits shooters to improve their marksmanship skills inexpensively. Not only is the unit inexpensive, the cost of its CO2 power packs and steel BB ammunition are inexpensive as well. Sharp and sleek-looking, the C11 is a repeater gun; its magazine holds up to 18 BBs. Each BB is loaded into the magazine by hand. In addition to Crosman brand ammunition, other brands may be used as well.

The hand grip panels both slide away to allow one CO2 power pack (cartridge) to be inserted. The CO2 cartridge weighs only twelve grams. The cartridge resembles those used in old-style soda water bottles. Each cartridge fires 100 to 200 BBs. Some users report that their unit suffers lower range performance as the CO2 cartridge empties and loses pressure.

The pistol is light (only 500 grams) and compact in length (only 175 mm). These tight dimensions make the gun easy to carry and handle, making it suitable for women and young adults. The aluminium barrel contributes to the overall lightness of the gun. The gun will not strain fingers or the shooting hand if the unit is held and shot for long periods.

At the retail level, the gun is widely available at large national stores (in the USA, examples include Sears and Wal Mart. The price is usually less than fifty dollars. This high affordability allows shooters to improve their marksmanship at low cost. The gun is also used sometimes to assist the control small pests. It may also be used for hunting ducks, rabbits, birds, fowl and other similar small game.

The C11 is rated as semi-automatic given its ability to fire 18 shots without reloading. It has a manual safety mechanism on the barrel that is easily reachable by the shoot finger. The unit has a smooth barrel so that the BBs do not spin in flight. This limits the accuracy of the gun. Its effective range is rated at 22 metres but greatest accuracy is achieved over a range of 8 or 9 metres.

The pistol combines handheld comfort, quality components with commendable overall accuracy. These features are delivered at low price, making the gun good value for money. In accordance with US federal law, the tip of the barrel is painted orange to so that it remains distinct from a conventional gun.

In conclusion, the Crosman C11 forms part of the airsoft range of products produced by the firm. It has a removable ammunition magazine and soft comfort grips that slide back to allow insertion of CO2 cartridges. It also comes equipped with a Weaver-style accessory rail under its barrel forward of the trigger to allow a telescopic sight to be added for greater accuracy. The C11 is said to be modeled on the famous Beretta 8000 series.

Want to get into stock class paintball? This highly overlooked game format has been steadily rising in popularity as more and more players are looking for cheaper yet challenging ways to play the game they love. The shame lies in that few players will ever give it a chance, but since you are reading this article, you must realize how great this format is.

What exactly makes a stock class paintball marker different? Well, 2 things in fact. These 2 things will be discussed below, so take a look!

The most noticeable feature is the overall size of the marker. If you take a close look, you’ll see that a stock class paintball marker is missing two parts you often find on a normal paintball gun. These 2 parts are the hopper and the air tank.

Without that 200 round hopper, or that 68ci 4500 HPA tank that supplies an endless amount of air to you marker, things are different. Your style changes, and your skills are challenged in ways a normal gun wouldn’t.

In place of where a hopper would be, is a 12 to 20 round feed tube, that rests horizontally on the top of the guns body. Most often the feed tube is only 12 rounds, which is 198 shy of what most paintballers are used to hauling.

Being a tank-less marker, a stock class gun is powered by a 12 gram co2 cartridge, which can provide roughly 20 to 50 shots. With only 20 to 50 shots per cartridge, you better make sure every shot you make counts, otherwise your in for a lot of reloading.

If your in for a more challenging way of playing this amazing game, look no further than stock class play. It’s an amazing game format, which can help you develop your skills and turn you into a better player.

Are you ready to join this format? Start now by seeing the top 3 stock markers used today – buzzard pump paintball gun. While you’re there be sure to check out other cool paintball gear. You’ll be glad you did!

The key goal of this gameplay is always to capture the opponent’s flag and make the opponent to surrender by aggressively attaching their defenses. The game of paintball is really a quickly paced sport stuffed with action packed situation for that spectators at large. Mostly the sport of paintball is surely an out of doors sport. Its venue involves the discipline, and improvised camps that provide full facilities for each personal who want to expertise the game. Beneath unfavorable weather conditions conditions, the game of paintball could be played in indoor venues.

In this game a player is provided with a paintball gun that works on air pressure. The group generally consists of 10 or more players dividing themselves into two teams. These teams battle it out until the main goal is achieved by reaching the opponent’s flag and hit each member of the opponent team. At the very end of the game, the team that captures the maximum number of flags and brings them back to their base with speed and precision will win the match.

Accessorizing in almost any activity is essential. Whether or not it is the outfit, or any other components, it’s most important to own them with you anytime you require them. Paintball equipment really should be regarded as prior to the gaming. Right here are some should haves just before you start the game of paintball.

Secondly, the paintball masks are necessary for the protection in the players. They’re no normal masks, but are created especially for that activity of paintball.Proper apparel is crucial while playing paintball sport. The use of heavy- duty boots intended for jogging is yet another gear that needs to be possessed by a paintball player.Other resources just like the screwdrivers, tweezers, pliers, and cotton swabs to wipe their fingers when strike by the paintball, occur quite handy.

Last but certainly not the least; a first aid kit must also be a part of the equipment necessary for the game. It is always better to avoid an accident, but even more important is to take care of the unavoidable circumstances that may arise in the sport of paintball. All the players must observe all the safety rules and policies set by the field to make the game enjoyable and danger- free.

For backyard plinking or getting rid of backyard rodents and pests, a Crosman 1377 air pistol is a smart choice. Crosman has been designing and manufacturing quality air guns since 1923 and the 1377 is one of their most popular and enduring designs. One won’t be disappointed in choosing this model as it has provided many owners with dependable service for many decades.

Air powered arms have been around since the sixteenth century. Using pneumatic air power instead of gunpowder, these are safe and reliable guns. Air pistols can have an effective range of up to 50 yards, although most are best at about 20 yards. This range is great for a backyard targets like small varmints or soda cans.

The model uses a . 177″ pellet and is single-shot. Air pressure is achieved through the forearm mounted pump in the forward stock. The long barrel is riffled steel and features a plastic wood grained grip with a diamond cut pattern. The pistol features open sights with full rear adjustment.

This pistol is highly customizable as many accessories are available. One of the more popular options is customized grips, which increase hand feel and connection with the gun. Finger pull weight can be modified to one’s liking by replacing the trigger assembly. The pistol can be converted into a carbine with the addition of a shoulder stock.

The longer barrel of this model makes it ideally suited for upgraded sights. Dovetail rails attach to the barrel so scope rings can be mounted. Typically a 4X magnification scope is used given the gun’s range. A red dot sight is also a popular upgrade for snap aiming.

This model is unique for a pistol as most of others are simple single pump. The 1377 can be pumped up to ten times for maximum power. This results in a 600 ft/s muzzle velocity that makes it effective to 20 to 25 yards. This is comparable to a small air rifle and gives the gun plenty of knock down power. This is important for both small backyard pests and punch through paper targets.

Users love the 1377. Reviews consistently mention the great combination of accuracy and power the pistol provides. Reviewers also like the lighter weight of this air pistol as it means longer shooting sessions can be enjoyed. Comments around ease of modification are also consistent positive.

There are not many negatives to report. Trigger weight is mentioned, as it appears to be heavier on the 1377 than the competition. Also some users feel pellet residue builds up quickly, so cleaning has to be done at more frequent intervals. But all in all, there are few if any major complaints.

Most sporting goods retailers will carry the 1377, along with other Crosman products and accessories, like ammo, glasses and sights. There is also a wide variety of accessories available online. Just about any modification desired can be accomplished.

Any plinker or target shooter will get plenty of enjoyment out of a Crosman 1377 air pistol. The design is proven and the variable pump makes it ideal for all shooting situations.

Crosman Corporation is a leading designer and manufacturer of airgun products for the shooting sports, globally. The company has a long history in producing both airguns (pistols and rifles) and the associated ammunition (BBs or pellets), including carbon dioxide (CO2) powerlets. Crosman airsoft products are widely considered at the top of their field in terms of reliability, durability and relative price.

The firm has more than 300 employees and is based at East Bloomfield, New York. Its products are marketed globally. The firm has long standing strengths in the pneumatic and carbon dioxide (CO2) powered segments.

Airguns have a long history. In the United States, they are famously associated with the path breaking achievements of explorers Lewis and Clark. Lewis carried an early version of what is today known as a pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) rifle. This weapon was capable of firing multiple shots, an impressive achievement for the time.

Airguns are also widely used by the boy scouts organization. Some troops use them to teach young men/boys how to handle guns responsibly. They are used for this purpose more widely by various groups and parents in the community. In the USA, the National Rifle Association (NRA) supports airgun competitions to promote the development of shooting as a sport among the youth.

Air guns and rifles divide into two types depending on the form of their projectile, pellet or BB. Pellet weapons are made in bigger calibers, . 177 as well as . 22. Crosman produces both pellet and BB weapons. Both are sold at modest prices in the tens, not hundreds of dollars like conventional weapons.

In August 1990, the company was acquired by Pexco Holdings, Inc.. At that time, Crosman reconfirmed its strategy to remain focused on entry-level weapons. It also indicated plans to accelerate the upgrade of its production equipment and facilities and broaden its penetration of the international market.

Soon after, during 1998, the firm entered the steel shot market and launched its first recreational camping accessory product, namely, the Pressuremate system for gas camping lanterns and stoves. To strengthen its position in the growing paintball market, Crosman formed the Sheridan Paintball unit. In 1999, this division tripled the number of its products and became a full-line supplier, improving its ability to compete in the recreational paintball niche.

In summary, Crosman airsoft products have a history dating back to 1923, the year the firm was first established. It was based in Rochester, New York. The firm experienced rapid growth during the 1950s when it established distribution agreements with several national retailers like Montgomery Ward and Sears Roebuck in the USA. Another major growth spurt occurred in 1966 when the firm launched its ever popular Pumpmaster 760 airgun. This weapon is still available. To date, more than 13 million units have been sold.

Since the conception of paintball, the sport has seen many changes. In the early 90′s the sport was met with an invasion of semi-auto paintball guns. What once was a pistol filled sport, became an environment filled with semi-auto markers that used multi-hundred round hoppers and larger than life co2 tanks. New technology changed the sport – as well as hype. Recently, things have settled down, and more players are looking for reliable backup pistols to act as a secondary marker to their primary. The paintball pistol market has grown immensely to fill this need.

Today, paintball has become a sport of many calibers. There literally are multiple size rounds in use today. You can find paintball guns designed to shoot these specific calibers – even paintball pistols. The two most commonly used rounds for paintball pistols are .43 and .68 caliber rounds. Most paintball gun pistols in use today use either of these rounds.

The general rule is the smaller the caliber, the more shots you can expect to get per 12 gram co2 cartridge – which is exactly what power paintball pistols. However, the drawback to using a smaller caliber pistol is they tend to not shoot as far or as accurately. This is due to basic physics, as the mass of the projectile is lighter, allowing to react to the resistance of the air and wind on a different level then the weightier .68 caliber round.

When deciding which size of paintball gun pistol is right for you, you should weigh the features you seek most. Some players prefer the smaller .43 caliber round paintball pistols, as they feel they resemble the real deal the most. In their minds a pistol shoots smaller rounds, and should be slightly inferior to their main marker for the sake of realism. Others prefer the heaver .68 caliber rounds because they don’t particularly want to buy 2 different sizes of paintballs to play.

Whatever your preferences are, be sure to get the paintball gun pistol that matches you.

Find the right pistol for you, and start playing paintball the way you’ve always wanted. Start right now buy finding your pistol here – Paintball Pistol For Sale.

Paintball used to be played by youngsters for fun and exercise. It was a hide and seek type of game, with eliminations of team members. Now with tactical paintball guns, the playing field has changed a bit.

The games now consist of military style missions with strategies and plans. And the weapons used look just like the real thing. In fact, they are so realistic that they are used for certain training exercises within the armed forces and some law enforcement units. Some features are an aluminum trigger frame, CO2 tank, and loader.

These play guns are hard to distinguish from real weapons. You need to take care when carrying them, as a police officer may very well handle the situation as if you are carrying a real weapon.

With this in mind, you should use discretion when you are transporting your play weapons. They should be encased in a bag or case that is appropriate for the paintball gun. It is also wise to only use the gun in designated areas that are specifically for paintball games. People, as well as law enforcement officers will become paranoid when they see these weapons, as they look so real.

As with any type of weapon, you should never fire it randomly. It should only be shot at a specific target within the game field and only during a game. You should also never look down at the barrel. And always have a barrel plug in the barrel when you are around other people who are not wearing goggles.

If you know the rules of the paintball games well, you should not have any trouble. For example, during the games, never remove your goggles or face mask. Do not shoot at animals, or play when you are tired or hungry. If you abide by these and other safety rules, you should enjoy the games you will play with your tactical paintball guns.

Looking to buy a tactical marker? Find some of the best ones at great prices, here – Tactical Paintball Guns For Sale.

In the sport of paintball shooting, the players need to know that they have a reliable mechanism that feeds the balls into their guns, or they are sure to loose. Spending money on various paintball hoppers come as part of the equipment setup needed for success. By definition a hopper is the chamber that sits on top of the gun and holds the ammunition before feeding it into the firing area of the gun. Basic hoppers work in different ways.

The professional player seeks out fast and reliable hoppers that not only deliver on firing power, but also keeps track of ball left ready to fire. Their number one choice is the force feed hopper that uses a complex system of springs to force balls into the gun, resulting in trust that every shot will produce a paintball right on target and time. Missing a shot due to malfunction of the hopper is virtually unheard of.

Hoppers called agitating hoppers propel balls using a little fan like device inside the hopper. The purpose of this is to stop balls sticking together or clogging up feeding tubes. Shooting in dry conditions is preferred as wetness affects the system quite badly and may cause problems.

Less expensive gravity feed hoppers that come as standard issue with new weapons may house a lot of balls, but it has no other way of feeding the gun, other than using gravity, resulting in a firing speed of 8 paintballs every second. Expect some unexpected stoppages though!

Guns that work with a pump action use stick-feed hoppers that hold twenty four paintballs. The feeder attaches under the gun and balls are loaded by dipping the gun before the next shot is fired.

As with many other sporting equipment, paintball hoppers are evolving to fit the higher levels of gaming. Professional players seek hoppers that can hold up to three hundred balls whilst amateurs are quite happy with a capacity of 40 balls in their loaders.

Before buying a paintball hoppers, be sure you know you are getting the right one. See various hoppers and loaders – see Dye’s Rotor Paintball Hopper
